BOTOX, Dysport And Fillers: What You Should Know

Our practice specializes in facial cosmetic procedures to encourage you to feel and look your best. Did you know that Olney Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers BOTOX/Dysport and filler injections? We’d like to share some facts on these injections with you.

What are BOTOX and Dysport?
BOTOX and Dysport are FDA-approved treatments that work well in diminishing fine lines and wrinkles by paralyzing the muscles underneath. BOTOX is produced from a bacterium, which freezes the muscles.

BOTOX and Dysport are commonly used to treat:

  • Frown Lines
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Face and Forehead Wrinkles
  • Lines at the Corners of the Mouth
  • “Cobblestone” Skin on the Chin

What are fillers?
A dermal filler, otherwise known as a “wrinkle filler,” is a gel-like substance that’s injected into the dermal tissue to restore the volume that your skin has lost. Fillers can shape the contours of your face and improve overall appearance.

Filler injections are beneficial in reducing the appearance of:

  • Lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Frown Lines
  • Deep Smile Lines

Fillers are also used to enhance cheeks and chins, fill in defects and improve the appearance of scars.

While the effects are temporary and the treatments are repeated periodically, these facial cosmetic procedures are minimally invasive and produce excellent results.
